| Youth court programs provide an alternative that is designed to redirect
juvenile offenders and prevent them from becoming entangled
in the criminal justice system while also providing additional youth
volunteers with a valuable education and service program. In
Sacramento County, Youth Peer Court has a long history and many
noteworthy accomplishments and the Superior Court of California, in
partnership with the Probation Department of the County of
Sacramento and the Center for Youth Citizenship, is pleased to
update this exemplary prevention-focused model for youth education
about the courts and the law, community outreach, service and
leadership. Youth Court is held bi-monthly on Thursdays at the Juvenile
Courthouse from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. For more information visit the
Center for Youth Citizenship Web site.
