Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission |

Our Mission
Our Mission is to serve the community and its youth by encouraging positive citizenship, preventing delinquency, and advocating for the effectiveness of the justice system. |
|
Mandate Sections 225 through 231 of the California State Welfare and Institutions Code mandates the existence of a Juvenile Justice Commission in each county through-out the state.
The Commission consists of from 7 to 15 members appointed by the presiding judge of the Superior Court with the approval of the judge of the Juvenile Court. Two of these members can be youth members between the ages of 14 to 21.
Our Goals
The Sacramento County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission oversees the juvenile court system and also inspects facilities to make sure they are in compliance with the law. While conducting our mandated facility inspections one of our goals is to complete them |

in a timely manner. Also for delinquency
prevention, our goal is to focus on prevention programs and become a
leader in the community. We would like to create an
"Information Network" which would facilitate the sharing of
information between the different county commissions and delinquency
prevention programs in California. Along with improving the
commission's abilities, we are not willing to let safety issues
affecting the children slide. |
