| All juvenile records are confidential.
The minor, parents, legal guardian(s), or attorney(s) of record may obtain
copies of court minute orders and selected court documents by appearing
at the appropriate reception counter with photo identification. The
records will not be mailed. Related agencies (see Local Rule 19.03) may inspect the juvenile records without filing a Judicial Council form JV-570 petition and without obtaining a further court order. The right to inspect such records includes the right to view them and obtain copies. Requests for inspection of such records may be made by delivering the declaration to the custodian of records of the juvenile justice agency possessing such records, either in person or by letter. Copies of records may only be received by an authorized individual by appearing in person at the juvenile justice agency that is releasing the records. Other individuals must utilize the "Petition For Disclosure of Juvenile Court Records Welfare and Institutions pursuant to Code 827" (JV-570). This completed form may be presented either in person or by mail but must contain an original signature. If the petition is granted, viewing and/or receipt of copies may only occur by appearing in person with proper photo identification. The records will not be mailed. The Juvenile Delinquency reception counter is located on the first floor of the B. T. Collins Juvenile Center at 9605 Kiefer Boulevard, Sacramento, California. The hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Limited copying service is provided at no charge. The Dependency reception counter is located on the third floor of the William R. Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse at 3341 Power Inn Road, Sacramento, California. A coin/card operated copy machine is located on site for public use.
